b' COAST GUARD INTELLIGENCEThe Coast Guard Intelligence (CGI) (https://www.dco.uscg.mil) became a statutory member of the Intelligence Community in December 2001. Its duties are to collect law enforcement intelligence on maritime threats, exchange information through relationships with government and private entities, conduct first order analysis, and disseminate tactical and operational intelligence directly to port level commanders as well as other Coast Guard units and government agencies. Because the Coast Guard employs unique expertise and capabilities in the maritime environment, both domestically and internationally, it can collect intelligence that supports not only the Coast Guard, but other national security objectives as well. 40'
