AFIO will not be publishing a Spring edition this year.
This decision was difficult but necessary. As many of you know, Elizabeth Bancroft, our longtime production manager, retired at the end of 2025 after years of exceptional service. From the journal’s founding in 2000 through the most recent issue, Elizabeth managed nearly the entire design and production process, while also contributing meaningfully to content development and editing. We are deeply grateful for her invaluable work, which helped shape The Intelligencer into the respected publication it is today.
AFIO is actively working to identify a new Editor-in-Chief and to assemble a refreshed design, production, and publication team. We view this transition as an opportunity not only to ensure continuity, but also to thoughtfully strengthen and evolve the journal. At the same time, we are assessing the financial implications of these changes and developing a sustainable plan that reflects current industry costs.
