The OSS Society hosted its William J. Donovan Award® Dinner - the preeminent annual gathering of the US intelligence and special operations communities - in Washington, DC, on October 18, 2025. A sold-out crowd of 700 people filled the ballroom at the Ritz-Carlton for the 36th presentation of the award since its inception in 1961. The year’s honorees were Amb. Ryan Crocker; former senior CIA operations officers Philip Reilly and Paula Doyle; and the 13th Commander of the US Special Operations Command, Gen. Bryan Fenton, USA. General Dan Caine, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, presented the William J. Donovan Award® to General Fenton.

The OSS Society’s cocktail historian, Philip Greene, presented the Army Navy Cocktail to commemorate the 250th anniversary of their founding from behind a replica of the bar from the Hotel Ritz’s Bar Hemingway that was “liberated” by Hemingway, the OSS’s Col. David Bruce, and a group of French Resistance fighters in August 1944. The evening’s meal was a tribute to the “French Chef” Julia Child who served in OSS.

A video of the event is available on YouTube as well as a montage of photos on Vimeo.
