William Francis Stevenson, Jr. passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 6, 2025. “Bill” was born in Statesville, NC. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in sociology from Lenoir Rhyne University in 1962. Bill was later recognized by the university with the Clarence L. Pugh Distinguished Alumnus Award. He was also a successful graduate of the Harvard University JFK School of Government National Security Program. Bill moved to Baltimore where the National Security Agency (NSA) employed him for 34 years, finishing his career as a member of the Senior Executive Service. Following his career at NSA, he worked for 20 years in the private sector as an intelligence consultant. Additionally in his retirement, he volunteered as a museum guide at the National Cryptologic Museum for many years. He was a member of the Phoenix Society.
