Bernard Eugene Day, age 94, of Adelphi, MD passed away peacefully on Friday, July 4, 2025. He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia Ann (Hartman) Day; loving father of Brenda Patrick and her husband, David; devoted "PopPop" to his grandchildren. Bernard was a proud alumnus of Gonzaga College High School and a proud veteran of the US Army. Bernie retired as a manager in 1993 after a long, distinguished career of 41 years. He was a former longtime member of the Phoenix Society.
Visitation will be held at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD (Valet Parking) on Sunday, July 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Camillus Church, 1600 St. Camillus Drive, Silver Spring, MD, on Monday, July 14th at 10 a.m. Graveside Service and Interment to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, MD, at 12:30 p.m.
