John Michael Kundrat, of Ellicott City, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, surrounded by love. A beloved husband, devoted father, and cherished friend, John was known for his kind heart, generous spirit, and deep appreciation for life’s simple joys. He left a lasting mark on all who knew him. He had recently retired from the National Security Agency.
Born on October 11, 1962, in Amherst, Ohio to the late George and Anne Kundrat, John lived a life rooted in love, integrity, and quiet strength. He dedicated more than 40 years to the Department of Defense, most recently serving as Technical Director with the Cryptologic Assessment and Performance Group. Throughout his career, he was deeply respected and valued by his colleagues for his steady leadership, humility, and unwavering commitment to his work.
