Joe Boys - Former CIA Officer

Richard (“Joe” or “Likabite Joe”) Carlton Boys, Jr., 86, passed on 6 March 2026 in Beacon, NY on the east side of the Hudson River across the river from Newburgh. Born 12 July 1939 in Hawaii, Joe served on active duty in the Air Force for 6 years, resigning in 1967, with the rank of Captain. His first assignment was with the 6910 Security Wing. He then served in Warsaw, Poland (European Security Region), Conus & Thailand (1st Air Commando Wing) and then 606th Air Commando Wing). He also served at Lackland AFB, Texas and was the recipient of 4 Air Medals and the Air Force Commendation Medal.

After leaving active duty in the Air Force, Joe had a successful career in government, medicine, education. He had a 20 year career with the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency CIA. He then worked in Preventive Cardiology at the Fairfax VA Hospital and Professor at the George Washington University, then Revival for the Truth of the Gospel RTG Ministry Education at Nakhon, Phanom on the Mekong River in northeast, Thailand and then Est & Hx Education Program in Ithaca, NY. He held a Master of Science from George Mason University.
