Edward Lee - Decorated Former CIA Executive

Edward Lee, age 95, passed away on March 26, 2026 peacefully in his sleep.

Edward was born in 1931 in Beijing and immigrated to the US in 1958. He joined the CIA in 1962, and worked there for 3 decades. His overseas posts included the Hague, Singapore, Jakarta, and Hong Kong and finished his career as Chief of China Ops. He was awarded the distinguished Donovan Award and felt extremely honored and proud to serve his adopted country.

Edward is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Lee whom he married for 67 years; his daughter, Deborah Kelleher; four grandchildren: Jordan, Andrew (wife Reagan), Kevin, and Sarah. He was predeceased by his daughter, Eliza Lee. He treasured his family immensely and was a model husband, father, and grandfather. The family cherished their experiences abroad.

Edward lived a full and interesting life, and always felt extremely blessed and content. He was loved, respected, and admired by all who knew him and will always be remembered for his kindness, wisdom and dignity.
