Milton Moritz - Former head of ASIS International and AFIO member

Milton Edward "Mick" Moritz passed away Friday, April 24, 2026, at his home. Born September 5, 1931, in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Edward R. and Anna May Moritz. He retired as the president of Moritz Associates Inc., a commercial and industrial security management consultant firm. Multilingual, he was retired from the U.S. Army where his twenty-year career was focused primarily in counterintelligence with significant assignments in Europe and Washington DC.

He was the Safety and Security Director at Harrisburg Hospital prior to serving for 21 years as Security Director for the Sprint Eastern Group in Carlisle, PA.

Her served as President and as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS International). Board certified as a Certified Protection Professional, he was a member of the faculty for numerous ASIS Courses. He was a part-owner of POA Publishing LLC, a security publishing company. He was published in numerous periodicals and he lectured worldwide on security topics.

He served as President of the Crime Clinic of Harrisburg and Commander of the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the Military Order of the World Wars. He was a member of the Association of Former Intelligence Officers and the Special Forces Club of London, England.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Ann (Walls) Moritz and is survived by his companion, Pamela Wand; a son, Stephen Moritz (Deb) of Woodruff, SC; 5 daughters, Betsy Koppenhaver of Palmyra, Sandra Moritz (James Simmons) of Harrisburg, Tracey Mowery (Michael) of Harrisburg, Peyton Grimmer (Barry) of Harrisburg, and Tammy Barnwell (Michelle) of Enola; 11 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Evening viewing will be held Wednesday, May 6, 6-8pm, at the Cremation & Burial Society, 4100 Jonestown Rd, Harrisburg, PA. A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 7, 11:30am, at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4200 Londonderry Rd, Harrisburg, with a viewing from 10:30am until the start of service. Burial with military honors at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery will follow the funeral.
