Arthur Kerns, Jr. of Tempe, Arizona passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026 at the age of 88 surrounded by his loving wife, Donna, and family. He was born in Darby, PA and attended Saint Joseph's College, where he was an editor on the school newspaper and played varsity soccer for two years.
In November 1960 he was commissioned as a US naval officer and served in the Amphibious Forces, receiving the Naval Expeditionary Medal (Cuba). He served as an FBI special agent for 24 years, attended the Defense Language School in Monterey, and, following retirement, consulted for the CIA.
Arthur and Donna moved to Tempe where he pursued a writing career and published an espionage thriller series. Survivors include his wife Donna, sons Arthur and Christopher, and two grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held in the upcoming weeks.
