Albert Michael “Al” Thomas Jr., 76, of Ocean View, Del., passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on July 1, 2025, after a long battle with cancer.
Edmund Cohen, 84, passed away peacefully at his home in Ashburn, Virginia on August 6. Mr. Cohen grew up in the Bronx, NY, graduating from Theodore Roosevelt High School in 1958.
Warren Brodey, who used his background as a psychiatrist to develop wide-ranging ideas about the liberating possibilities of technology at the dawn of the information age — ideas that helped lay the groundwork for revolutionary fields like artificial intelligence — died on Aug. 10 at his home in Oslo. He was 101.
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leonard Whistler, II of Potomac, MD on July 21, 2025 at the age of 92. Len was the beloved husband of Kathryn 'Kate' Kissane Whistler. Kate Whistler passed away on Palm Sunday of 2024 and we hope that she and Leonard will meet again in a better place.

James William Cerulli, Jr., a resident of Severn, MD, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at the age of 83. Born in Plainfield, NJ, Jim was the son of the late James William Cerulli, Sr. and Jean J. (née Ginder) Cerulli. His life was marked by dedication to both family and community, leaving a lasting impact on those around him.
William H. Webster, the only person ever to lead both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Central Intelligence Agency, switching from lawman to spymaster while the bureau was investigating high crimes at the White House and the C.I.A., died on Friday in Warrenton, Va. He was 101.
The full and rich life of Don H. Peterson ended on August 11, 2025 in Alexandria, Virginia, at the age of 97. He was born in Jamestown, New York to descendants of Swedish immigrants, Harold and Doris Peterson.
Colonel Richard "Dick" Goebel, USAF, Retired, entered the arms of God on March 21, 2025 with family by his side. Dick was born in Florida on September 19, 1941 to Virginia and Dick Goebel.
